Weight Loss Goal Day 1

Posted in goals, inspiration, Personal, Weight Loss by cdaymude on January 2, 2009

Okay, first day down. 3 pounds lost and Caleb is not too happy. Goal for this week was just 3 pounds. At this rate I’ll be done by the end of the week but I know the losses don’t keep up at this pace….

So here’s how I did it.  First of all I won’t say “diet”–oops I just said it! For me it’s always just being a consistently better, healthier eater. I call it “clean” eating.

I ate clean yesterday. That means nothing white; no sugar, white bread, white rice, mayo etc.

Breakfast:  1/2 cup Steal cut oats with 1/2 cup fresh blackberries and 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed

Snack: About 1/2 cup raw cashews/walnuts

Lunch: Suzanne fixed a wrap with whole wheat tortilla, 2 slices of turkey, tomatoes, fresh spinach and spicy mustard (yum).

Snack: we went to see Marley and me so I took about 2 oz of beef jerky that I had bought from Pigeon Forge, TN and some more nuts.

Dinner: a very awesome, yummy shake with 1 cup of mixed berries (frozen so they make the shake thick), flaxseed, spinach, 1 cup soy milk

Snack: a cup of fat free yogurt (blueberry) with a piece of WASA cracker (don’t know what these are but they are bigger than a piece of bread, crunchy, somewhat tasty, whole grain and yummy)

There you have it, completely satisfied all day. If you’re hungry–you should eat. Losing weight is about adding to your diet. Replacing the bad with even more good.

Exercise: I walked 5 minutes, ran 5 minutes over the river and through the woods for 58 minutes.
